We're Goin' Out Tonight Lyrics

We're going out tonight
And I want my friends to know
'Cause you look just right
And my feelings start to showI owe it all to you and I'm sure
I'll do the things you want me tooYou shocked me, amazed me
You blew me away, hey
As I stand next to you, you make me nervous
I can't see a thing in front of meFor days and days
I can't forget you, no, no, no
My friends ask me why
My God, you've got me highAll the things I want
I find them hard to get
But now my luck has changed
And I knew that when we metWe're going out tonight
And we'll stand up in the crowd
'Cause we're dressed real nice
Even Gucci would be proudI don't mind telling you
You look good

You look so good
So good to meYour vibrations move me
Sentimentality grooves me
I hung up on this lovely girlI've never seen us like this
Your teeth as white as pearls
Hey baby, you're the wonder of my worldWhen we step out tonight
The people will applaud
The girls will say, "My my"
And the guys will say, "Oh, Lord"I'm in heaven, heaven
I'm in heaven
Heaven, heaven
Heaven's just for meHeaven, heaven
I'm in heaven
Heaven, heaven
Heaven's just for meI thank the Lord for what he's given me
Oh, it feels so nice to be
I'm in heaven
I'm in heaven, yeahOoh, oh, oh, oh, I'm in paradise
And you know if feels so nice
Yeah, I'll never let you go
And I want the world to knowHeaven, heaven
I'm in heaven
Heaven, heaven
Heaven's just for me

Cameo is a funk group which formed in 1974 in New York City, New York, United States. The band's lineup has constantly fluctuated since its formation, with the only constant being vocalist Larry Blackmon.

An outlandish, in-your-face stage presence, a strange sense of humor, and a hard-driving funk sound that criss-crossed a few musical boundaries earned Cameo countless comparisons to Parliament/Funkadelic in their early days. However, Cameo eventually wore off accusations of being derivative by transcending their influences and outlasting almost every single one of them. Throughout the '70s and '80s, the group remained up with the times and occasionally crept ahead of them, such that they became influences themselves upon younger generations of R&B and hip-hop acts. By the time the group's popularity started to fizzle in the late '80s, a series of R&B chart hits -- ranging from greasy funk workouts to synthesized funk swingers to dripping ballads -- was left in their wake. Further separating Cameo from their forebears, they didn't have a diaper-clad guitarist. Instead, they had a codpiece-wearing lead vocalist, Larry Blackmon.
