We've Come Too Far Lyrics

Hey, baby listen
I know we've been through our share of problems
Been through our share of ups and downs
But we, we've just come too far to throw it all away
Wait a minute, let me, let me do it like thisWe've had our problems baby
But we still made it through
We've been through the storm sugar, yes, we have
And I'm still in love with youI see the pain baby, deep in your eyes
Even though you're smiling
I know it's hard and it feels like we fell out of love
But baby, hold on, 'causeWe've come too far, to give upon us
Been through too many things
We've cried too many tears
To throw it awayBaby, can I take my time and sing to you?
Ooh, I'm so sorry darlin', yes I am
I did some things, I'm ashamed of
And I'm just a man, angel, yes I am
And sometimes we fall short to loveI see the pain baby, deep in your eyes

Even though you're smiling
I know it's hard and it feels like we fell out of love
But baby, hold on, 'causeWe've come too far, to give upon us
Been through too many things
We've cried too many tears
To throw it awayWe've come too far, to give upon us
Been through too many things
We've cried too many tears
To throw it awayDon't think I fell out of love
You are the one that I need
If you leave me baby, I'd die
And regret that I've [Incomprehensible] this for youWe've come too far
Come here baby
Can I take my time and talk to you for a minute?
Baby I'm sorry for comin' home so late at nightWe've come too far
Ooh, yes I am baby, huh
It hurts me so bad
To see you cryin', yes it does, ahWe've come too far, to give upon us
Been through too many things
We've cried too many tears
To throw it awayWe've come too far
We've come too far
We've come too far
Hey hey, hey

Dave Hollister, cousin of music act K-Ci and JoJo, started developing fame as a musician in the early 1990s. Some of his biggest early appearances were with 2Pac on tracks like "Brenda's Got A Baby."

His next big move was when he was signed to Teddy Riley's R&B group BLACKstreet in 1994. He worked with the group on their first album and then left the group to pursue his own solo career. He was signed to DreamWorks Records and began working on an album.

In 1999, Hollister released his first albumm, Ghetto Hymns. The album was successful, going gold, and creating one hit single, "My Favorite Girl." "My Favorite Girl" reached #10 on the R&B charts.

Hollister's follow-up album, Chicago '85... The Movie was released in 2000. The album was an autobiographical work and went gold. "One Woman Man" the album's biggest single, reached #8 on the R&B charts.

For his third effort, Hollister moved to Motown Records. He hoped the new label would instill new energy into his music. The album, Things In the Game Done Changed was released in 2002 and faired poorly on the charts and radio.

As a result of the album's shortcomings, Hollister returned to DreamWorks where he released Real Talk in 2003. Following the album's release, Hollister moved to Gospo Centric.

Hollister is reportedly wrapping up his fifth album in the industry, The Book of David: Vol. 1 The Transition. The album will be coming out on September 26, 2006 from Gospo Centric.
