What It Feels Like Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Light of the world
Let me show you what it feels like
To be me
To be freeTimes gone
And past has conclusions
My life like yours
An illusion
Of things the way
We only seeIf theres a chance I can make it
You bet your ass Im a take it

Out theres a life waiting just for meI show you what its like to be free
I ll tell you what its like to be me
I ll show you what its like to be me (free)
It feels good yeah! What it feels like (4x)Some say that lifes what you make it
Sometime theres a hand you should take it
And where it leads there you will be
Come now life is really a dream
Let go youll see what I mean
Out theres a reason to believe
BelieveIll show you what its like to be me
Ill show you what its like to be free
Ill tell you what its like to be me
It feels good yeah! What it feels like (4x)Light of the world
Come and set my spirit free
Take me beyond the limits
And let me find release
Well Im gonna find
Oh that peace of mind
Reason why
Im alive
To be FreeOh,What it feels like
What it feels like

She also lends her vocals to the works of other artists, most notably former Deee-Lite producer Towa Tei ("Luv Connection"), and Brooklyn Funk Essentials. After releasing The World is Full of Trouble (1994) and her self-titled second album Joi Cardwell with Eightball Records in 1995, Cardwell left the label and released her third album Deliverance on NoMad Records in 1999.
