What's the Use? Lyrics

I broke my world in pieces yesterday
I woke to find my angel gone away/astray
I was loud and I was strong
I was proud but I was wrong
didn't realise the price I'd have to paylong ago when sharing things was new
I did the things I thought a man should do
so I tried to break her will
but it was me who paid the bill
'cause instead of breaking one heart
I broke twowhat's the use in askin' where she's been to
what's the use in askin' what she's done
I'm the one who told her she was leavin'
so what's the use in askin' where she's goneloneliness is tearin' me apart
I swear to God I'll make a brand new start
so I'm on the telephone
sayin' angel, please come home
before you break your poor old daddy's heartwhat's the use in askin' where she's been to
what's the use in askin' what she's done

I'm the one who told her she was leavin'
so what's the use in askin' where she's goneinstrumental soloanything you need I'll be there/I'm tryin'
heaven knows I'm cryin;'
angelwhat's the use in askin' where she's been to
what's the use in askin' what she's done
I'm the one who told her she was leavin'
so what's the use in askin' where she's gone
