When I Was a Freeport and You Were the Main Drag Lyrics

You took my heart, misery
You taught me blues
Well, I got a lot of patience, baby
That's a lot of patience to loseI've been treated bad
When I was a Freeport
And you were the main dragBroken blues
I just don't know
Little bird
Flyin' by my windowTake me when you go, I lookin' at these times
And it's bound to drive me mad
When I was a Freeport
And you were the main dragWhat did I do?
Everybody's puttin' me down
I keep runnin'
But the law kept comin' aroundSo fare thee well happiness
'Cause I've got blues
And I got a lot of patience, baby
That's a lot of patience to loseI'm a woman and this is my due time

I've been treated bad
When I was a Freeport
And you were the main drag
