When You're Near Me I Have Difficulty Lyrics

When you're near me, I have difficulty respirating
When you're near me, I have difficulty concentrating
When you're near me, I have difficulty standing upright
When you're near me, I have difficulty sleeping at nightI used to stand proud like a sphinx
In a noble immovable state
And then your heart nailed me under a jinxNow I'm feeling like a jellyfish
Just a spineless wobbly jellyfish
And it's great, great, so greatWhen you're near me, I have difficulty respirating
When you're near me, I have difficulty concentrating
When you're near me, I have difficulty standing upright
When you're near me, I have difficulty sleeping at nightI used to stand high like a pine
Just a piece of emotionless wood
And when you put your body near mineNow I'm feeling like a jellyfish
Just a spineless wobbly jellyfish
And it's good, good, so goodI used to be an iceman, living in iceman town
So I'm warning all you cool, cool icemen
Better be prepared to be melted right down, downWhen you're near me, I have difficulty respirating
When you're near me, I have difficulty concentrating

When you're near me, I have difficulty standing upright
When you're near me, I have difficulty sleeping at nightWhen you're near me, I have difficulty
When you're near me, I have difficulty
When you're near me, I have difficulty

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
