When the Saints Go Marching in Lyrics

Oh, when the saints, go marching in
Yes when the saints go marching in
Oh Lord I want to be in that ever lovin' number
When the saints go marching inOh, when the saints, go marching in
Yes when the saints go marching in
Oh Lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching inOh yes, I had a dear old mother
And if you should see her before I do
Won't you tell her that you saw me coming
I was struttin' straight on throughOh, when the saints, go marching in
Yes when the saints go marching in
Oh Lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

Jackson became one of the most influential gospel singers in the world and was heralded internationally as a singer and civil rights activist. She was described by entertainer Harry Belafonte as "the single most powerful black woman in the United States". She recorded about 30 albums (mostly for Columbia Records) during her career, and her 45 rpm records included a dozen "golds"—million-sellers.
