While I'm Still Alive Lyrics

Playing the game
With the chips on my shoulder
Checking in the mirror
As my coffee cup gets colderStagger and swagger
Combing my hair
If tomorrow's not there
Then at least today's all mineWhile I'm still alive
While I'm still alive
While I'm still aliveStrutting my stuff
I'm blagging the damage
From coupling with headlines
I was suckled on salvageThe fighting's exciting
The age is dramatic
I'm crackling with static
Just jiving to surviveWhile I'm still alive
While I'm still alive
While I'm still aliveTake a stroll down the side roads
I know you want to

A shock in the dark
Can be good for your heart, oh yeahWhile I'm still alive
While I'm still alive
While I'm still alive
While I'm still aliveScuffling along
On the crest of a wave
Laughing and grafting
Or jerking and workingStriking a match
Where life is a gas
I need the flash
To make it all worthwhileWhile I'm still alive
While I'm still alive
While I'm still alive

Ultravox (formerly Ultravox!) are one of the primary exponents of the British electronic pop music movement of the early 1980s. The band was particularly associated with the new romantic movement, although it both pre- and post-dated New Romantic by several years, drawing inspiration variously from punk, the artier side of glam rock and latterly straightforward synth pop. The band was formed in 1973 in London, United Kingdom on the initiative of vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist John Foxx (born Dennis Leigh).
