White Bird Lyrics

White bird
In a golden cage
On a winter's day
In the rainWhite bird
In a golden cage
AloneThe leaves blow
Across the long, black road
To the darkened skies
In it's rageBut the white bird
Just sits in her cage
UnknownWhite bird must fly
Or she will dieWhite bird
Dreams of the aspen trees
With their dying leaves
Turning goldBut the white bird
Just sits in her cage
Growing oldWhite bird must fly
Or she will die

White bird must fly
Or she will dieThe sunsets come
The sunsets go
The clouds roll by
And the earth turns old
And the young bird's eyes
Do always glowShe must fly
She must fly
She must flyWhite bird
In a golden cage
On a winter's day
In the rainWhite bird
In a golden cage
AloneWhite bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly
Or she will die
White bird must fly
Or she will die

It's a Beautiful Day was a band formed on a beautiful day in San Francisco in 1967, and was the brainchild of violinist and vocalist David LaFlamme. David has been in a band called Orkustra with Bobby Beausoleil. The other members were David's wife Linda (keyboards), Pattie Santos (vocals), Hal Wagenet (guitar), Mitchell Holman (bass) and Val Fuentes (drums). Their debut album, the self-titled It's A Beautiful Day, was released in 1969. They were a bit of a latecomer in the psychedelic scene, often considered to be one of the "second wave" bands that emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area.
