White Days Lyrics

Verse 1:
Rise before the sun
We leave when it lifts
The show must go on so we start on the run
Buy us a meal
And buy us some time if we want to arrive there
Look ahead at the road
You can't see a thing
But maybe we'll make it before it's too late
There is no time to waste---
Verse 2:
Turn, turn on the lights
As they drive by
World on the side (?) keep your eyes on the road
Hands on the wheel
Don't let us slip this is almost a nightmare
Turn, turn on the heat
They can't feel a thing

As I fall asleep keep your eyes on the white
Don't let us die tonight--
Chorus:
White days like this I never miss
They only come once a year
They only come once a year (X2)
Verse 3:
Feel the passing of day
But nothing has changed
That is the term and it forced us away
Buy me a room
With bed and a muse (?) this is almost resourceful
Stop. Don't hit the breaks
They don't do a thing
We made it to nowhere with no time to spare
No one said life was fair--
Chorus:
White days like this I never miss
They only come once a year
They only come once a year (X2)
Bridge:
White days-- like this
White days-- like this
White days--
Days-- (X2)
White days-- like this
(White days-- like this)
White days-- like this
(White days-- like this)
White days----
Chorus:
White days like this I never miss
They only come once a year
They only come once a year
White days like this I never miss
They only come once a year
They only come once a year...

The Lighthouse and the Whaler is a band from Cleveland, Ohio, though its name alludes to the waters off the coast of Massachusetts. Inspired by a theme from Moby Dick, the band’s name alone is enough to make underpaid Literature teachers beam with pride. It all started with two musicians -- Aaron Smith and Michael LoPresti -- who decided to collaborate in a field one sunny afternoon because that seemed nicer than playing in a basement. By the end of the day they had written their first song. They gave it a profound name: "The Field Song.
