Who Are You Lyrics

Ever told you about the boy
Who said he was a Virgo
He walked around doing every little thing
He thought a Virgo doesUntil he read in the paper
That he might be a Leo
So he started acting out on every little thing
He thought a Leo shouldTill somebody went upside his head with a bottle
Now he's out there crawlin' and thinkin' like a warrior
Fightin' for his life
If he was fightin' for his lifeWho are you?Ever told you about the girl
Who thought she was a Christian
So she walked around tryin' to save everyone
Just like the Christ had doneUntil she heard from the sun
That she was really an Egyptian
And the prophets stole all those concepts
Straight from the pyramid wallsNow she's searchin' through her heart
Tryin' to find the answers to this life
This heaven, this hell

In this heaven, this hellWho are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
(Oh, tell me, tell me, can't you?)When the band stops playin'
And the lights go down
And the butcher man is gone
And your friends ain't aroundCrawlin' on home
But it's early in the mornin'
And your thoughts won't stop
But it's too late to get awayDo you think about the good times
Or do you think about the bad?
Do you let it get to you?
Can't you just let it go
Tell me, can you let it go?Who are you?
(Tell me, you know it)
Who are you?
Who are you?
(I am everything)I'm a lover, I'm a fighter
I'm a saint, I'm a sinner
I'm a loser, I'm a winner
But I'm a just a beginner
I'm a cheap thing in the end
Buddhist, EgyptianI'm the future, I'm the power
I'm the help, I'm a problem, I'm a father
I'm a husband, I'm a son, I'm a lover
I'm a, I'm just a lover, I'm a
I'm a lover, I'm aI'm a Muslim, Christian
Hindu, magician, Jewish
Teething child, I'm a fork, I'm a freak
I'm a man, I'm a anything you want
I'm aI'm a lover, I'm a fighter
I'm a saint, I'm a sinner, I'm a love
Basically I'm just a human being, yeah
Be who I wanna be
That's who I amSpiritually, yeah
Spiritually, yeah, yeahI'm a spiritual being
Spiritually, yeah
Spiritually
Spiritually
SpirituallyOh, I'm a lover, I'm a lover
I'm a lover, oh
SpirituallyGotta break to be free
Don't you hunger
To be free, free, free

Bilal (born Bilal Sayeed Oliver on August 23, 1979, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) is a soul musician and member of the musical collective known as Soulquarians. In 2001, his debut album — 1st Born Second — was released on the Interscope record label.

Bilal's classical training at the Mannes Music Conservatory in New York was instrumental to his conversance with Jazz, voice, and big band arrangements. It has also been reported that he is capable of performing opera in seven languages and writes both music and lyrics.

In 1995, Bilal encountered Faulu Mtume, and his brother, Damu Mtume (sons to James Mtume and founders of Moyo Entertainment) at a barber's shop in Philadelphia. His plans to produce film scores was shelved after he handed the brothers a demo recording; they were so impressed that they successfully convinced him to record commercially.

Bilal has also frequently collaborated and performed with several neo-soul and alternative hip hop artists, including Common, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, and The Roots. He also covered Radiohead's "High & Dry" for the 2006 Radiohead tribute, Exit Music: Songs With Radio Heads. Bilal appears in Dave Chappelle's Block Party.

His sophomore full-length recording, Love for Sale is rumored to have been shelved after being leaked on the internet. Despite no official release as of yet, Love for Sale has become an underground classic.
