Who Will Guard The Guardians Lyrics

We are nothing, they own our lives
Just a statue of a stain in time
We are nothing, they own our lives
Spinning in circles, got left behindWe were all warned this would happen
But the words just rang in our earsMachines built by machines
Built by machines, built by machines
Built by machinesWe can only hide for so long, so long
Before they harvest us
For the souls that we have leftBut we can only hide for so long, so long
Before they harvest us
For the souls that we have leftI swear we cannot wake up
From this hell that we live in
But when the sun finally hits our face
We see that we are merely reflections
Of reflections left by our predecessorsDragged through the mud
Chained by the ankle
There is no more running
There is no more escapingIf only God could lay His hands

Down on this barren land and wake us up
Because we are the lost, we are the helpless
We are the forgotten ones
We are the lost and we are the abandonedI swear it's worth saving us
We pray for the sun to dry us up
I need a clearer head
To see what we are worthThere's still life left down here to revolt
Oh, I know what it looks like from there
A loss of control to this place
And we're set to extinctI swear, I swear it's worth saving us
Oh, I swear, I swear it's worth saving us
Oh, I swear, I swear it's worth saving us
I swear, I swearRevolt, revolt
We stood by defeat for so long, for so long
Revolt, revolt
We stood by defeat for so long, for so longWe've been under your control
We've been under your control
We will not be a part of your disease

Underoath (occasionally typeset as underOATH or UNDERØATH) were an American band originally formed on November 30, 1997 in Ocala, Florida, but later relocated to Tampa, Florida, which was home to some of their newer members.

During the band's early years, when they were fronted by former vocalist Dallas Taylor, Underoath displayed a heavier style than their later, more well-known work, incorporating disparate influences from death and black metal. With Taylor, they released Act of Depression, Cries of the Past, and The Changing of Times.
