Why Don't We Talk About It Lyrics

Why dont we talk about it- Rodney Crowell
Once I had a woman with a high-head
And I let her treat me mighty low-men
She made a lover of my best friend
And now he treats me like a haz-benYes! Ive had my trouble with the world around me
NO! I didnt give it my best
Now! I get a chance to see some better whether
If you wanna stay forever
Why dont we talk about it now?Yes my reputation says Im flaky
Hey my whole situations kinda shaky
Some people around here think Ive lost it
They drew the line, I stepped a-cross itYes! Ive had my troubles in some certain circles
No! I didnt bring it on myself
Now! I get a chance to move and if there was
And if you dont care what youve heard
Why dont we talk about it now?Sometimes I make it up all in my head
Theres a whole lot of things that shouldve never been said
This new ground feels solid that Im standing onI have done some things that might a-maze you

But then again most things don't even, faze you
You gotta way of standing stead fast
And Ive gotta way of running dead lastYes! Ive had my trouble tryin to start all over
No! I didnt give it all I could
Now! I get a chance to know what love can heal
And if you wanna know the feeling
Why dont we talk about it now?If you wanna know the feeling
Why dont we talk about it now?
