Wiggley Fingers Lyrics

I'll never be sad, and I'll never be lonely
I'll never be hungry and I, I'll never be homely
And I never make a noise when I'm kissing a boy
Amen amenOld John Paul is keepin' a tab
In his big red folder
At night he is dreaming
Of hollow candle holders
Big is the weight of the world
On his shoulders
Amen amen amen amenYeah, he's keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to himself
And he sees you keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
Yeah he's always keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to himself
Always keeping those dirty little, oh yeahShakin' the tree baby
You should be shaking the bed, yeah
You know you're rocking the boat, baby
She'll be rocking your head
All the family's watching
60 minutes instead

Amen amen amen amen, yeahYou're keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
You're keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
Yeah, you're keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
You're keeping your dirty little wiggley fingersThey'll send you flying right out of St. Francis Xavier
With a note to your daddy about your unspeakable behavior
And who in the hell is gonna be your savior nowEveryone says that love is a labor
So I guess you go call a sex line
If you want to love your neighbor, baby
I'll just standing right here and I'll just get safer and safer
Amen amen amen amen amen amen amen amen
You know I'm alwaysKeeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
Keeping those dirty little wiggley fingers to yourself
They'll send me flying right out of St. Francis Xavier
With a note to my daddy about my unspeakable behavior
And who in the hell said I need a savior anyhowI got the dirty little wiggley fingers
I got the dirty little wiggley fingers
I got the dirty little wiggley fingers
I got the dirty little wiggley fingers
I love the feeling of the wiggley
I love the dirty little wiggley
I love the feeling of the wiggley
I love the dirty little wiggley
Dirty little fingers, yeah

Patty Griffin, born Patricia Jean Griffin, March 16th, 1964 in Old Town, Maine, is an American folk singer.

She brought out her debut album Living With Ghosts--a set of demos featuring only Ms. Griffin and her guitar--to critical acclaim in 1996. Her sophomore album, Flaming Red, demonstrated a more rocking, full-band sound. The ill-fated Silver Bell album was never released by her record label, however, and the label terminated her recording contract shortly after that. Many of the songs from Silver Bell were re-recorded for subsequent albums.
After switching to ATO Records Griffin brought out 3 albums in rapid succession: 1000 Kisses and Impossible Dream, which were both nominated for Grammy awards, and A Kiss In Time, a well-received live album. In March 2007, she released Children Running Through to great critical acclaim.

She has penned a wide variety of songs - Long Ride Home, Top of the World, Tony, Forgiveness, Chief, Mad Mission--that touch her listeners deeply. A number of high profile artists have covered Patty's songs, including the Dixie Chicks, Bette Midler, Emmylou Harris, The Wreckers, Solomon Burke and pop star Kelly Clarkson; these have brought her exposure in the more mainstream pop and country worlds outside of folk music circles. Upon hearing Solomon Burke's cover of one of her tunes, she said she almost didn't feel worthy of singing it anymore.

Following her collaboration with Mavis Staples on a tune for a compilation album Peter York, suggested Griffin make an album of gospel songs. Griffin agreed on the condition that Buddy Miller, a friend and bandmate, produced the record. Downtown Church was recorded at the Downtown Presbyterian Church in Nashville with a 2010 release date. The album features long-time friends Buddy and Julie Miller, as well as Shawn Colvin and Emmylou Harris. It also includes songs by Hank Williams, Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton, and "All Creatures of Our God and King," a song accredited to St. Francis of Assisi.
