Wipe the Floor with You Lyrics

I've been outnumbered on a number of times
Seven badges swinging but I still got mine
I got blood sweat and tears and fifteen years
I got a trunk full of pride we can take it outsideWe can walk through the valley of death, I'm still standing
After the effects and suffering a crash landing
Under the gun I've been underpaid
Now I'm back from the grave what you got to sayYou'll be staring at the sky
with the stars around your head
If you come and step to me
Then you're better of dead
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
I wipe the floor with you
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
You're better of dead
Late night shifts till I didn't exist
I've been dragged through the dirt and crossed off the list

Stitches in my hand I got blood on the floor
I'm from the city of steel have you been there before
This is for the ones who fell for the hard working folks
That have been through hell where respect comes first
And your money comes last and if you ain't got the money
Gotta look out for somebody, look outYou'll be staring at the sky
with the stars around your head
If you come and step to me
Then you're better of dead
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
I wipe the floor with you
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
You're better of dead
Must be the time for you to make your mind up
Must be the time for you to read the signs
Must be the time for you to meet the maker
Must be the time for your soul to cry
Oh lord have mercy
Now hit meYou'll be staring at the sky
with the stars around your head
If you come and step to me
Then you're better of dead
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
I wipe the floor with you
I wipe the floor with you
You want to get down
You're better of dead

Intense, soulful and poetic, Redlight King's music is both biographical and cathartic. Using the backdrop of his humble beginnings growing up in the hardworking Canadian steel town of Hamilton, Ontario, Redlight King frontman and songwriter, Kaz, wrote his first song at the age of 7 but didn't pick up a guitar until he was 21. A keen observer and prolific storyteller, the songs on Something For The Pain reflect a culmination of life's highs and lows. After hitting rock bottom, Kaz used the experiences as inspiration and selling everything he had, headed for Los Angeles to record an honest and introspective album that is sure to resonate with the listener. Musically, Something For The Pain blends these pensive musings with a decidedly rock sound punched with rhythmic undertones. "Old Man", the first single from the upcoming CD is not a cover but rather was written as an ode to his own father while paying homage to musical icon Neil Young's song of the same name and, for the first time ever, contains an approved sample of Young's original song. Done with great respect, the song carries a deeply personal message with a thoroughly modern and original twist. Pushing boundaries and taking risks sums up the moniker Redlight King and is an apt description of the band and its music. With victory ahead and the past a nod in the rearview mirror, Redlight King is destined to break barriers.
