Womankind Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
One more time for the womankind
This is for the womankind
Check it out, check it outOne more time for the womankind
This is for the womankind
Check it out, check it outOh, babys got precious eyes and when he smile
The sun comes shining to make the day seem like
Each cloud contains a silver lining
I would be so happy if he belonged with me forever
But I know its not to be, its not part of my destinationWish I had a lover who could turn this water into wine
I wish I had a lover who could give me loving any time

Wish I had so many things and all my wishes would come true
Its got me thinking that I want to get too close to youCheck it out, check it out
Check it out, check it outHear my prayer, dont you know Im tired of waiting
Hear my prayer, wont you give it a chance?
Hear my prayer, dont you know Im clearly statin'
I need to change this circumstanceYou could be the best damn thing that hasnt happened yet to me
You could be the best thing to come into my mythology
We could have the kind of dream, they call a great affinity
I want to turn it into something like realityHold me now, Im tired of waiting
Hold me now, Im asking you
Hold me now, no more anticipating
Why wont you come to my rescue
To my rescue?Oh, babys got precious eyes
And when he smiles the sun comes blasting
I wish that feeling of contentment could be everlasting
I would be so happy to give him all my dedication
I would be so happy but its so in my imaginationThis is for the womankind
Singing for the womankind
Yeah, for the womankind
Here comes AdinaHow many doors must I go through
These constant dreams that I pursue
I can see possibilities in you
Yeah, here we go again, is it all too good to be true?Yeah, this thing called love, still dont know what it is
Maybe Ive had enough, oh save me please
All my wants are becoming needs
Tell me what she feels, too bare for you to seeYeah, every desire go through the fire
This is what I give of me
If I could just be free
Baby, wont you rescue me?Every desire go through the fire
(Baby, wont you rescue me?)
Every desire go through the fire
(Baby, wont you rescue me?)Lay me now, I wanna be under your skin
(Every desire go through the fire, every desire go through the fire)
Lay me now, I wanna be under your skin
(Every desire go through the fire, every desire go through the fire)Every desire go through the fire
(Wont you rescue me?)
Every desire go through the fire
(Wont you rescue me?)
Every desire go through the fire
(Wont you rescue me?)
Baby wont you rescue me?

Annie Lennox is an Oscar, Brit and Grammy award-winning pop musician and vocalist. She was born on December 25, 1954 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

After three years as lead singer of The Tourists, Lennox achieved her most notable fame as the alto, soul-tinged lead singer of the 1980s rock duo Eurythmics with British musician Dave Stewart. Early in the Eurythmics' career, she was known for her androgyny, wearing suits and once impersonating Elvis. Journalists often referred to her as "the white Grace Jones".

Her 1992 album Diva won critical praise and sold well, but her profile decreased for a period due to her desire to raise her two children outside of the media's glare, although she continued to be a major figure in popular music. Medusa - an album of covers in which Lennox tackled songs by everyone from Bob Marley to The Clash - was released three years after Diva, and also sold well. In 1997 she re-recorded the Eurythmics track "Angel" for the Diana, Princess of Wales tribute album. In 1998 - following the death of a mutual friend (former The Tourists leader singer/songwriter Peet Coombes) - she re-established contact with Dave Stewart and by 1999, Eurythmics had reformed for the album Peace. In 2003 she released her third solo album, Bare.

In 2003, Lennox was chosen to record "Into the West" for the soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. This song won an Academy Award for Best Song in 2003.

In October 2007, Annie released her fourth solo album, Songs Of Mass Destruction.
