Wonderful Waste of Time Lyrics

It's almost summer you know and I can't wait to go
Diggin' my toes in the sand
Spendin' long summer days soakin' up some rays
To the sound of a reggae bandMy baby looks so good but I knew she would
And I'm so glad she's mine
I'm gonna kiss her again, while the waves roll in
It's just a wonderful waste of timeOoh, put all our cares behind us
Wrapped in each others arms is where you'll find usKickin' back on a beach with my lover in reach
Holdin' her hand in mine
Crazy things that we do, may not matter to you
It's just a wonderful waste of timeOoh, we're dancin' a hole to China
Even though we're on a beach in CarolinaOoh, moonlight walks by the ocean
Ooh, there's no need to control our emotionsI wanna tell you my friend, I'd like to do it again
There's no reason or rhyme
Spendin' time on the shore, I'd like to do it some more
It's just a wonderful waste of timeIt's a wonderful waste of time, just a wonderful waste of time
A wonderful waste of time, it's a wonderful waste of time
A wonderful waste of time, a wonderful waste of time

A wonderful waste of time, a wonderful waste of time

Alabama is a country music band from Fort Payne, Alabama that was started in 1969 but did not get a recording contract until 1977. Alabama began by singing for tips around Myrtle Beach before going on to sell millions of records. They were among the first successful country groups since the mid-1970s, thanks to their blend of contemporary and traditional country and southern rock. On July 4-93 they opened a $7-million, 2,200-seat theater, located in Barefoot Landing-Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The members of Alabama are:

- Randy Owen (vocals and rhythm guitar)
- Teddy Gentry, (vocals and bass guitar)
- Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin)
- Mark Herndon (drums and percussion)

Along with the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Alabama is recognized as having paved the way for today's top country groups, including Diamond Rio, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts.
