Working for a Living Lyrics

Yeah, some days won't end ever and some days pass on by
I'll be working here forever, at least until I die
Damned if you do, damned if you don't
I'm supposed to get a raise next week, you know damn well I won'tI'm just working for a living
I'm working for a living
Working for a living, living and working
Taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livingHey, I'm not complaining 'cause I really need the work
But hittin' up my buddy's got me feeling like a jerk
Hundred dollar car note, five hundred rent
I get a check on Friday but it's already spentWorking for a living
Working for a living
I'm working for a living, living and working
Taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livingOh, oh, working for a living
Oh, oh, taking what they giving
Oh, oh, working for a living
Oh, oh, ohBus boy, bartender, ladies of the night
Grease monkey, ex-junky, winner of the fight
Walkin' on the streets, it's really all the same

Selling souls, rock 'n' roll, any other gameWorking for a living
Working for a living
Working for a living, living and working
Taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livingWorking for a living, living and working
Taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a living
Working for a living, living and working

Phil Vassar (born May 28, 1964 in Lynchburg, Virginia) is an American country music artist, most notable for his songwriting and use of a piano as his most prominent backing instrument.

Prior to signing with Arista Records in 2000, Vassar's songwriting talent was no stranger to the airwaves, penning number-one hits for some of the most popular country artists of the late 1990s: Jo Dee Messina ("Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright"), Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money") and Tim McGraw ("My Next Thirty Years" and "For A Little While"). He has also written songs for Collin Raye ("Little Red Rodeo") and Blackhawk ("Postmarked Birmingham").

Vassar also co-owns a piano bar outside Nashville, Tennessee, where he performed his own material prior to signing a record deal.
