Wrong Side of Town Lyrics

Tell me a story about something pretty
A guardian angel up in the sky
And make me believe you no hill for a climber
Ask me no questions and tell you no liesChorus:I'm hanging on, my mouth hanging open
World spinning faster, round and round
Hey what's the matter, you look unexpected
Like you took a right turn on the wrong side of townYou left the light on looking so hopeful
You're just pretending you know what you've done
Crying yoru heart out, nobody's looking
It's not getting better, we're not having funChorusJesus was wrong about all the sinners
That we'd take a stump for a sign of the times
Running for shelter like nobody's business
You don't even notice the face of the skySo many answers just loose talking whispers
Pick up some pieces and gobble them down
Don't talk in words so I won't understand you
Hold up your fingers and cry like a clownChorus

Pat Green was born in San Antonio and raised in Waco, Texas, the eighth of nine siblings. His father was a stage actor, and Green fell in love with the musicals his father acted in. Green began his musical career when he was 18 and in college at Texas Tech in Lubbock. "I started playing guitar to pick up the chicks," Green laughs. "Before that, I only sang in the shower. I could mimic other people's voices. It took me a long time to find my own voice, but once I did, I became very comfortable with it. It's not real pretty but it's believable."
