YOLO (feat. Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar) Lyrics

YOLOYOLO, you only live onceThe battle cry of a generation
This life is a precious gift
So don't get too crazy
It's not worth the riskYou know that we are still young
So don't be dumb
Don't trust anyone
Cause you only live onceUgh, you only live once
That's the motto
So take a chill pill
Ease off the throttleNever go to loud clubs
Cause it's bad for your ears
Your friends will all be sorry
When they can't hearAnd stay the hell away from drugs
Cause they're not legal
Then bury all your money in the backyard
Like a beagle'Cause you should never trust a bank
They've been known to fail
And never travel by car, a bus

Boat or by railAnd don't travel by plane
And don't travel at all
Built a bomb shelter basement
With titanium wallsAnd wear titanium suits
In case pianos fall on ya
And never go in saunas
Cause they're crawlin' with piranhasAnd never take the stairs
'Cause they're often unsafe
You only live once
Don't let it go to wasteYou know that we are still young
So hold off on the fun
Cook your meat 'til it's done
Cause you only live onceYeah
And here's another piece of advice
Stay away from kids
Cause their hair is filled with mad liceThere's no such thing
As too much Purell
This a cautionary tale
Word to George OrwellSo don't 1980 force
Any plugs into sockets
Always wear a chastity belt
And triple lock itThen hire a taster
Make him check your food for poison
And if you think your mailman is a spy
Then destroy himNo blankets or pajamas
They can choke you in your sleep
Two words about furniture
Killing machinesBoard your windows up
The sun is bad for your health
And always wear a straight jacket
So your safe from yourselfTake no chances (no chances)
Stop freelancin' (right now)
Invest in your future
Don't dilute your finances (uh huh)
401K, make sure it's low risk
Then get some real estate (how much?)
4.2% thirty year mortgage
That's important, that's a great deal
And if you can't afford it
Don't forge it on your last bill
Renting is for suckers right now
A dependable savings
And you'll retire with money in your account
BeastYOLO, say no no
Isolate yourself
And just roll solo
Be care-folo
You oughta look out
Also stands for YOLOYou know that we are still young
Burn the prints off your thumbs
Then pull out all your teeth
So you can't bite your tongueOnly on this earth for a short time, time
So don't go outside, cause you don't want to die, dieJust take our advice and hide
And scream YOLO to the skyYou oughta look out

The Lonely Island is a comedy rap group consisting of filmmakers Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, and Andy Samberg (aka The Dudes). The group was originally formed in Berkeley, California - in 2001 - but they now reside in New York City. They write, produce, and are featured in the "SNL Digital Shorts" on Saturday Night Live (Samberg is a current cast member, Taccone and Schaffer are writers) most notably "Lazy Sunday," "Dick In A Box" featuring Justin Timberlake, "Jizz In My Pants, "I Just Had Sex" featuring Akon, and "I'm On A Boat" featuring T-Pain. In August 2007, "Hot Rod" was released, which was co-written by the Dudes (with Pam Brady) and directed by Akiva.
It co-starred Andy, Jorma and fellow SNL-ers Bill Hader and Chris Parnell, among others.

On February 10, 2009 the Lonely Island's debut record "Incredibad" was released. It includes most of the SNL Digital Shorts as well as new songs featuring E-40, Julian Casablancas, Beck, Jack Black, and Norah Jones.

On their YouTube channel, The Lonely Island announced an upcoming album on October 28, 2010, which would be released in the spring of 2011. On December 18, 2010, the SNL Digital Short was the official music video of "I Just Had Sex" (featuring Akon), the first single off the album.

On January 29, 2011, the group debuted "The Creep" featuring Nicki Minaj and a cameo by filmmaker John Waters, on SNL and YouTube. On March 15, 2011, Direct Current Music reported that the album would be named Turtleneck & Chain and would be released on May 10, 2011. On April 1, 2011, The Lonely Island appeared as guests on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where they premiered the lead track, "We're Back!", as well as the new album cover. On April 19, 2011, the group released "Motherlover" featuring Justin Timberlake as the fourth single from the album. This song was last featured on season 34 of SNL.

The group held a fundraiser to promote their new album on April 16, 2011. This event was at Amoeba Music in Berkeley, California. There were only 250 tickets available, and the only way to obtain a ticket was to preorder their album. They hosted a Q&Asession and an autograph session. Shortly after, "Motherlover" was released on iTunes. On May 7, they released a new track, "Jack Sparrow", featuring Michael Bolton. Turtleneck & Chain was both Emmy and Grammy nominated (for Best Comedy Album).
