Year of the Rabbit Lyrics

2011, the year of the rabbit
i am feeling good
are you mad?
are you mad?
are you mad?
are you mad?
trouble believing what you say you're feeling
all you ever say is "good"
are you mad?
are you mad?
are you mad?
are you mad?
you give an inch and i shoot up a mile
oh, what i would give to see you crack a smile
lost in a furrowed brow and a coffee cup
if you could only tell me what is up
you give an inch and i crawl up the space between
the tiny crack, the tightening noose, the slightest inkling

i say, "i love you" just to get you to say anything
i hear they're calling it this year's snowpocalypse
do you wanna warm up with me?
are you home?
are you home?
are you home?
are you home?
trouble believing what you say you're thinking
all you ever say is just
"i don't know"
it's not enough to sit together inside a room
"to merely lay beside one another as lovers do"
staring off into the cosmic void of a screen
the strong and silent type has taken on a new meaning
it's not enough to sit together inside a room
"to merely lay beside one another as lovers do"
staring off into the cosmic void of a screen
the strong and silent type has taken on a new meaning
it's not enough to sit together inside a room
"to merely lay beside one another as lovers do"
staring off into the cosmic void of a screen
the strong and silent type has taken on a new meaning
it's not enough to sit together inside a room
"to merely lay beside one another as lovers do"
staring off into the cosmic void of a screen
the strong and silent type has taken on a new meaning
it's not enough to sit together inside a room
"to merely lay beside one another as lovers do"
staring off into the cosmic void of a screen
the strong and silent type has taken on a new meaning

Eskimeaux was originally a project started by Gabrielle Smith. It was a compulsive audio diary, used as a way to document physical stasis and emotional transience that one experiences while living in New Jersey. Through various six-degrees-of-separation connections, Gabrielle and Benjamin Schurr met in 2007 and after being heavily influenced by his project Br'er, they began working on music together.
