Jim Coyle and Mal Sharpe were two radio comedians in the early 1960s who would perform pranks, somewhat like an audio version of "Candid Camera". They would make up fake religions on the spot and try to get passers-by to convert. They would pretend to be the folk singers Nozhe and Paloc from the nonexistent country of Bugravia, and sing Bugravian folk songs at open-mic coffee houses. They would pretend to be doctors, stop random people on the street and offer to perform surgery on them in the back of their car.

In short, they were totally insane and hilarious. They had a morning radio show in San Francisco. After a few years the show ended, and Jim Coyle disappeared from the earth, kind of like Bettie Page. Mal Sharpe is still around, and is still very funny. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
