You Are a Destroyer - Fake Furs

FAKE FURS was birthed when Sonny Wong (drums, etc.) and Laszlo Bolender (vocals, etc.) met while working on a friend's film set. Swiftly, what were simple rehearsals at first became a band at last.
A growing animosity and strong desire to create a unique sound was in place and set the two musicians to bond as friends before all.
Always intending to mean what they say and say what they mean, the band favored working on quality rather than quantity, which is the concept behind "-1", the first 6-track EP in the band's history.
Throughout those tracks, Sonny and Laszlo strived to develop that sound that they both like to refer to as "dirty velvet rock" - receiving a rock in one's face hurts... but if it's made out of velvet, it remains soft and gentle,
just like a lullaby sang to children before they dream their lives away.
Both having different backgrounds - Sonny being American, Laszlo being French - also massively contributed to what the band stands for: accepting people and things for what they truly are and disregarding appearances. Embracing their defects to bring out what is eventually the best in themselves. In this case, what truly matters is the music and it is their unbiased, truthful representation that is being shown to anyone who is ready to see.
