You Belong to Me Lyrics

You don't have to prove to me
You're beautiful to strangers
I've got loving eyes of my own, of my own
You belong to meWhy'd you tell me this?
Were you looking for my reaction?
What do you need to know?
Don't you know I'll always be your girl? You do not have to prove to me
You're beautiful to strangers
I've got loving eyes of my own, of my own
I can tell
You belong to me
You belong to me, baby
You belong to me
You belong to meYou belong to me
Can it be baby that you are not sure?
You belong to me
Thought we'd closed the book, I thought we'd locked the doorBaby, you don't have to prove
You're beautiful to strangers

I've got loving eyes of my own, of my own
I know darling
You belong to me
You belong to me, yes you doTell that woman something baby
I believe you know what I want you to say to her, yes
Want you to tell her baby
Tell her that I love you
Tell this woman, tell herYou belong to me, you belong to me
Everybody knows this baby
All of your friends
All of your friends, all of my friends baby
Told me this was goin' onI can't stand it baby
What you doing, baby, what you doing?
What you doing, baby, what you doing?
Where you going, baby, where you going?
Where you going?

Anita Baker (born January 26, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio) is a soul and adult contemporary Rhythm and blues singer. With her classy, refined brand of romantic soul, Anita Baker was one of the definitive quiet storm singers of the '80s. Gifted with a strong, supple alto, Baker was influenced not only by R&B, but jazz, gospel, and traditional pop, which gave her music a distinctly adult sophistication. Smooth and mellow, but hardly lifeless, it made her one of the most popular romantic singers of her time.
