You Can Have Her (Re-Recorded) Lyrics

You can have her, I don't want her
She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
All I wanted was love to stayIf you get the wrong woman
There's only one thing you can do
Just dig a hole, jump right in it
And pull the ground right over youYou can have her, I don't want her
She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
All I wanted was love to stayThe girl I love, she upped and left me
She ran away with my best friend
Comes home at night just for an hour
When daylight comes, she's gone againYou can have her, I don't want her
She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
All I wanted was love to stayLife without love, it's mighty empty
Confession is good, good for the soul
I'd rather have love that I can cling to

Than have the world and all of its goldYou can have her, I don't want her
She didn't love me anyway
She only wanted someone to play with
All I wanted was love to stayYou can have her, I don't, I don't really want her
She didn't love me anyway

Jim Ed Brown and The Browns were an American family singing group from Sparkman, Arkansas made up of Jim Ed Brown and his sisters, Maxine Brown and Bonnie Brown. Country music singers, they sang individually at rural venues until 1954 when Maxine Brown, and younger brother Jim Ed, signed a record contract as a singing duo. Eighteen-year-old Bonnie joined the group in 1955, and the following year they were signed by Chet Atkins, RCA Victor Records producer in Nashville, Tennessee.
