You Can Have the World Lyrics

Some people say that this is the truthThere are no genes everlastin' yetIf they live like us it wouldn't be hard to tellJust what is heaven and where is hellSo keep on the good goodBe happyYour genes are yours to keepDon't be a victim now of these mean sticksIf there's a world of trouble to bust your punchesTo be newKeep the faith baby it can happen for youIf you want itDon't make circumstances stop youOpportunity will rock youHave the world
If you want it(Chances are you'll find)You're gonna make itGonna make it throughYou're gonna make it through yeahYeahThe best that you can doEverything will come to youStop procrastinatin'Your neck of allIf you wonder why I understandTake the time to comb your hairWash your face and handsLook the best you canIt takes a minute to findSuccess and a peace of mindIf you harp it you can do it
If you put your heart into itJust get a picture in your mindGet very detailed what to findAnd chances are you're gonna findIf you want itDon't make circumstances stop youOpportunity will rock youHave the worldIf you want it(Chances are you'll find)You're gonna make itHave the worldYou're gonna make it

Cameo is a funk group which formed in 1974 in New York City, New York, United States. The band's lineup has constantly fluctuated since its formation, with the only constant being vocalist Larry Blackmon.

An outlandish, in-your-face stage presence, a strange sense of humor, and a hard-driving funk sound that criss-crossed a few musical boundaries earned Cameo countless comparisons to Parliament/Funkadelic in their early days. However, Cameo eventually wore off accusations of being derivative by transcending their influences and outlasting almost every single one of them. Throughout the '70s and '80s, the group remained up with the times and occasionally crept ahead of them, such that they became influences themselves upon younger generations of R&B and hip-hop acts. By the time the group's popularity started to fizzle in the late '80s, a series of R&B chart hits -- ranging from greasy funk workouts to synthesized funk swingers to dripping ballads -- was left in their wake. Further separating Cameo from their forebears, they didn't have a diaper-clad guitarist. Instead, they had a codpiece-wearing lead vocalist, Larry Blackmon.
