You Don't Know My Mind Lyrics

went to the racetrack my man he won
He gave his other woman money and didn't give me none
You don't know, you don't know my mind
You see me laughin', laughin' just to keep from cryin'He said he didn't want me, I wasn't good enough
I'm gonna get myself another man and call his bluff
You don't know, you don't know my mind
You see me laughin', laughin' just to keep from cryin'I'm not good lookin', I don't dress fine
But I'm the kind of mama that will take my time
You don't know, you don't know my mind
You see me laughin', laughin' just to keep from cryin'You don't know, you don't know, you don't know my mind
You don't know, you don't know my mind
You see me laughin', laughin' just to keep from cryin'

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
