You Who Are Lonely Lyrics

YOU WHO ARE LONELY
BallardI just can't begin to explain the expression on my face
Let's just say that I've lost someone and losing leaves its trace
And I won't dare to pretend I'm in the hands of fate
But how long before we get what comes to those who wait? You, you are lonely, no
How slowly time can go
When winds of sadness blow. You, you are lonely, you see
To be alone is not to be free
Nobody knows like me
And you who are lonely.
It's not that I appreciate to have love to share
To come home every night and know someone is waiting there
And a home without love is no home at all
I'm hanging on to a dream, waiting to fall. You, you are lonely, no
How slowly time can go
When winds of sadness blow. You, you are lonely, you see
To be alone is not to be free
Nobody knows like me

And you who are lonely. You, you are lonely, no
How slowly time can go
When winds of sadness blow.
You, you are lonely, you see
To be alone is not to be free
And nobody knows like me
And you who are lonely.

In the 60's, Colin Blunstone was the lead singer of The Zombies, a british band that developed a distinctive, jazzy sound, in which his soft, laid-back, almost hesitant voice was offset against the equally soft, but flexible and pointy instruments of organ, drum, and bass. The Zombies disbanded. In the early 70's, Blunstone re-emerged as a solo act, and scored several major hits. The music featured rhythm guitar now and ranged from string arranged melodies, to rock, to American folk.
