Your Generation (feat. Billy Idol) Lyrics

Trying to forget your generation
You know all the ways when in what I see
The ends must justify the means
Your generation don't mean a thing to me
I say your generation don't mean a thing to me
I say your generation don't mean a thing to meMight take a bit of violence
But violence ain't our only stance
Might make our friends enemies
But we gotta take that chanceThere ain't no time for substitutes
There ain't no time for idle threats
Actions are rather hard to place
'Cause what you give is what you getSo, that's your generation
It's your generation
Well it's your generation
It's your generationTrying to forget your generation
You know all the ways when in what I see
The ends must justify the means
Your generation don't mean a thing to me

I say your generation don't mean a thing to me
I say your generation don't mean a thing to meMight take a bit of violence
But violence ain't our only stance
Might make our friends enemies
But we gotta take that chanceThere ain't no time for substitutes
There ain't no time for idle threats
Actions are rather hard to place
Cause what you give is what you getSo, that's your generation
It's your generation
Well it's your generation
It's your generationTo the end justify the means
To the end justify the means
To the end justify the means
To the end justify the means
It time for generation

The core members of Generation X, a seminal British punk rock band with heavy new wave and power pop influences, were singer-songwriter Billy Idol (who has since maintained a remarkable 30+ year solo career) and bassist Tony James (later of Sigue Sigue Sputnik and for a spell Sisters of Mercy before settling in Carbon/Silicon). Generation X was formed in 1976 after guitarist Billy Idol (a.k.a William Broad) and bassist Tony James decided to go out on their own, leaving Gene October, the leader of their then band Chelsea.
