Your Sword Vs. My Dagger Lyrics

I'm cutting through, you're bleeding out
And I would tell the truth but I can't help myself
Red rushes out, dissect this nerve
And I'll stop myself before I reach my cellI wasn't asking for the world
And you know that I'm not one to follow through
All these city streets the people look the same
And I can see your face, and I can hear your name
I wasn't asking for the worldYou're stabbing in, permanent scars
And you'll justify it all inside yourself
You've finished me, my pulse is gone
And you're satisfied to put this all to hellI wasn't asking for the world
And you know that I'm not one to follow through
All these city streets the people look the same
And I can see your face, and I can hear your name
I wasn't asking for the worldDrink the poison, when you think it's over
Stabbing yourself, when you think it's too late
Tragic endings are your thing, you love them
Your love letting go, the ending's the same

Drink the poison, when you think it's over
Inevitable, Verona lives inside of youI wasn't asking for the world
And you know that I'm not one to follow through
All these city streets the people look the same
And I can see your face, and I can hear your name
I wasn't asking for the world

Silverstein is a 5-piece rock band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada; formed in 2000. The band name was taken from the famous children's author Shel Silverstein. After several lineup changes, the band acquired Billy Hamilton, a local fan who learned of the band's need for a bassist on the Internet message board "The 905 Board" (an Ontario area outreach board which used to be for local musicians). In Christmas of 2001, he joined the band after Shane Told helped him learn the music for the songs. Following a rehearsal on Boxing Day (December 26) in 2001, he officially debuted with Silverstein.
