You're Gonna Get What's Coming Lyrics

You came up on me like a landslide
Once in awhile I get taken like that and I like it
And I've got a thunderbird parked right outside
Then give me a minute to finish this thing and we'll light itIn all this heat it's a job keeping cool, oh yeah
And I could fry an egg on you, oh
You came up on me like a landslide
And once in awhile I get taken like that and I like itYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
You're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youI hope that you're half as intrepid then as you make out
More often than not, I'll bet you never got what you asked for
Keep on pouring until you hear me shout
And turn up the sound if you want me to drive any fasterCaution went out when you walked in the room, oh yeah
If it never came back it would be too soonYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
You're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youAnd you're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running

And you're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youYou came up on me like a landslide
Once in awhile I get taken like that and I like itYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
And you're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
You're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
You're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to youYou're gonna get what's coming
You've been asking for it two days running
You're gonna get what's coming
You're gonna get what's coming to you

Robert Allen Palmer (January 19, 1949 – September 26, 2003), born in Batley, Yorkshire, England, was a British singer. He was known for his soulful voice and the eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, reggae, blues, and even yodeling.

His eighties hits were promoted by particularly striking award winning videos, featuring an all-female, black-clad backing band. The memorable videos, directed by Terence Donovan, featured heavily on MTV and played a large part in his transatlantic success.

His eighties success was kickstarted by his participation in supergroup The Power Station, along with Andy Taylor and John Taylor of Duran Duran and Tony Thompson of Chic.
