You're Not Free Lyrics

I remember you like it was yesterday
Remember the time you said you'd find me
I remember the songs that you used to play
I hear them still and it reminds meMy runaway you know you've gone wrong
For so long
So glamorous at the outset
Now, you're almost doneYou're not free
You're only lost
Time to get home
And count up the callsLivin' on dreams
That never were real
Get down to the touch
Because you can't feelYou're not free
You're only lostPrayin' to God
You've broken the chains
One day you'll look back
And think of my nameAll of your friends
Pretend you're the best

They run you around
But they could care lessThey'll never see
How good it could be
No man like meThey'll never know
Just where it could go
You think you're freeYou're not free
You're only lost
Time to get home
And count up the callsLivin' on dreams
That never were real
Get down to the touch
Because you can't feelYou stumbled
And you still don't see it
The losers always think they can winYou're never gonna wanna believe it
You think you're gone
But I see you, yeahYou're not free
You're only lost
Time to get home
And count up the callsLivin' on dreams
That never were real
Get down to the touch
Because you can't feelYou're not free
You're only lost
Time to get home
And count up the callsLivin' on dreams
That never were real
Get down to the touch
Because you can't feelYou're not free
You're only lost
You're not free
You're not free
You're not free

Uncle Kracker (born Matthew Shafer 9 November 1974 in Mount Clemens, Michigan) is an American rock and roll and country music musician.

He started out his career at a young age as a fledgling rapper. He met Kid Rock in 1987, and Rock asked Kracker to become his DJ. Kracker did not know how to work the turntables, but he soon learned how to, and he became a long-term friend and colleague of Rock.

Kracker worked with Kid Rock until he became a solo artist in 2000.

The My Hometown Songfacts reports that Kracker recorded Postcards From Home over seven weeks in early 2011. The album title was inspired by his hectic life on the road after his successful Happy Hour longplayer.
