You've Heard It All Before Lyrics

(Unknown)You've heard 'em all before, the words I wish I could say
Fooling myself I guess to think that it would matter anyway
If I even tried to write them down, hoping that I could tell you more
But the trouble is you've heard 'em all beforeAnd they're all right here on my radio
The words that I want, and I just didn't know
How to say them so they'd sound new, or I'd have said 'em to you
And they're all around in the songs that I hear
And they say it so easy and they say it so clear
And I'd have told you these words and more
But you've heard 'em all beforeYou've heard them all before in words more convincing than mine
I'm fooling myself again to repeat them one more time
Oh but you know how I feel, if you leave me you know what it would do
Maybe you'd wanna stay, if I'd have said 'em to youAnd they're all right here on my radio
The words that I want, and I just didn't know
How to say them so they'd sound new, or I'd have said 'em to you
And they're all around in the songs that I hear
And they say it so easy and they say it so clear
And I'd have told you these words and more

But you've heard 'em all beforeAnd they're all right here on my radio
The words that I want, and I just didn't know
How to say them so they'd sound new, or I'd have said 'em to you
And they're all around in the songs that I hear
And they say it so easy and they say it so clear
And I'd have told you these words and more
But you've heard 'em all beforeAnd they're all right here on my radio
The words that I want, and I just didn't know
How to say them so they'd sound new, or I'd have said 'em to you
And they're all around in the songs that I hear
And they say it so easy and they say it so clear...(c) Unknown

Dr. Hook (& The Medicine Show) were formed in Union City, New Jersey, USA in 1968. The original lineup consisted of Ray Sawyer, Dennis Locorierre, Bill Francis, John David and George Cummings - although there were countless lineup changes over the years.

Two years after Sawyer left in 1983 the band split up. Since then Sawyer has begun touring as "Dr Hook featuring Ray Sawyer" and Locorierre has also promoted himself as "The voice of Dr Hook".

Trivia: In a live webcast performance from Atlanta Bon Jovi performed "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr Hook - declaring the song "One we should have written".
