consider me Lyrics

[Chorus]
Would you ever consider someone like me
To take a part in the heart of your company?
Would you give me an inch of responsibility?
Would you let me lock up at night?
Would you give me the key?
Would you ever let me use your phone
If I wrecked my car and I wound up at your home
Would you share some care for all my broken bones
Would you make it your business and tell me to mind my own
Would you ever let me date your kin
Of your family circle would you ever let me in
Of your family tree would you let me be a limb
Yeah what would you do if we ran off on a whim
And would you let me sing songs to your kids

Would you let me tell 'em what I think life really is
Would you blame for every single damn thing they did
Yeah would they jump too if I jumped off a bridge
[Chorus]

Cody is a folk-singer’s folk-singer and a poet’s poet. He was born and bred in Delavan IL, population 25, surrounded by the endless skies of the American Midwest. Before moving to Chicago in 2003, Cody tried his hand at sessions in Nashville and carefully hewed and tested his art in college town bars and honky-tonks around the Midwest. He now plays regularly in the city and it’s not uncommon to see whole rooms full of strangers erupt and sing along to the choruses of his songs on their first listen (I’ve seen it happen).
