subtle boy Lyrics

Today I awoke with your name on my dreams
painted in purple ink
And I wondered awhile,
what is it about your style, that makes me sing
Is it the ice inside your eyes,
or the lights beneath your skin
Of all of the things you could possibly say
But instead you hold within
Your a subtle body
A subtle boy
A subtle thing
A subtle joy
And I like the way you move me
And I am an obvious girl
With my head stuck in a pearl
But I like the way I'm moving
How could they compare
All those fools who came before

See you are just like me
You see things the way they could be seen
But you make them so much more
Some people waist a lifetime
With someone who shuts them down
But how could I possibly shut
When I am so very opened up
By the love you bring around
Your a subtle body
Your a subtle boy
A subtle thing a subtle joy
And I like the way you move me
And I'm that obvious girl
With my head stuck in a pearl
But I like the way I'm moving
I'll get lost, and then,
I will find my way
find my way
back to your arms again
I'll get lost and then
I will find my way
find my way
back to your arms again

Austin native Suzanna Choffel gave the songs on her new album, STEADY EYE SHAKY BOW, time to mature and build character, like fine wine, before she stepped into the studio to record. The result is 10 elegant tracks that flow from the jazz-oriented style of her 2006 debut, SHUDDERS AND RINGS, into a form she likes to call indie-soul-pop. It’s as fitting a term as any to describe the blue-eyed charmer’s dusky vocal delivery. To paint an even more specific picture, she’ll go with, “Smoky-voiced female lead singing pop songs with a little bit of an urban feel.”
