(there's A) Fire In The Night Lyrics

Running scared, wonderin' what I'm doin' so far from home
Beginnin' not to care that I was so alone
Then my eyes met hers and without one word
I could tell what was gonna happen, I could feel it in my bonesBy the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the night
She took me to her room, ya know it felt so right
The heat's growin' higher, the flame of desire
By the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the nightWhen she told me, she didn't often do this kind of thing
She said please hold me, hold me tight so I don't have to think
Oh her gentle touch, really moved me so much
The flames of love swept over us like a burning lightBy the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the night
She took me to her room, ya know it felt so right, so right
The heat's growin' higher, the flame of desire
By the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the night
Fire in the night, oh yeahBy the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the night
She took me to her room, oh ya know it felt so right, oh yeah
The heat's growin' higher, the flame of desire
By the dark o' the moon, oh there's a fire in the nightThere's a fire in the night baby, we started a fire
Oh yeah, there's a fire in the night, oh, I'm on fire

By the dark o' the moon, there's a fire in the night
Oh yeah, oh yeah

Alabama is a country music band from Fort Payne, Alabama that was started in 1969 but did not get a recording contract until 1977. Alabama began by singing for tips around Myrtle Beach before going on to sell millions of records. They were among the first successful country groups since the mid-1970s, thanks to their blend of contemporary and traditional country and southern rock. On July 4-93 they opened a $7-million, 2,200-seat theater, located in Barefoot Landing-Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The members of Alabama are:

- Randy Owen (vocals and rhythm guitar)
- Teddy Gentry, (vocals and bass guitar)
- Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin)
- Mark Herndon (drums and percussion)

Along with the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Alabama is recognized as having paved the way for today's top country groups, including Diamond Rio, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts.
