c64 Messiah
c64 Messiah aka Roberto Aloi composes chiptune inspired music utilizing both sounds from the 80s vintage computer system, the commodore 64, and modern day composition tools.
Instead of taking a purest approach and only using sounds from the c64 like many chiptune artists, he combines samples, real time synthesis from various audio hardware, and whatever he feels could benefit a particular song.
This music making approach allows those familiar with the 8bit music genre to recognize and embrace the sounds while also appealing to a larger audience who may not be familiar, but have heard and appreciate the more modern instruments which co-exist seemingly with the vintage sounds.
He is known for mixing gritty commodore 64 sounds with jungle, experimental, breakcore, and hip hop.
Three of his songs were released commercially on a vinyl chiptune compilation titled "Pookie's Chocolate Nose" available in UK record shops, warpnet, rubadub.co.uk, and other online retailers.
