Corona Guitar Kvartet

Corona Guitar Kvartet (CGK) has played an important role in the world of modern guitarmusic for almost two decades.
Not only has the ensemble been a medium for transcriptions but also a driving force for expanding the repertoire and placing the guitar and the quartet on the modern music scene..
Composers from Denmark, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Baltics, North and South America and many other parts of the world have composed works for the ensemble.
As a reward to their work a number of composers have written conciertos for quartet and symphony orchestra and streched the limit for which musical expression might seem possible.
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra in Vilnius and the Ermitage Orchestra of St Petersburg have together with the Corona Guitar Kvartet accomplished a number of conciertos written for and dedicated to the quartet.
Due to the fact that the Corona Guitar Kvartet has devoted so much of their effort to contemporary music it has developed to a standard - according to the destinguished German Guitar magazine Gitarre und Laute - among top 10 guitar quartets worldwide.
