Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays
Guitarist Pat Metheny and keyboardist Lyle Mays are jazz legends and longtime collaborators responsible for composing most of the Pat Metheny Group's material.
"As Falls Wichita, so Falls Wichita Falls" is a collaborative LP released by the two musicians in 1981 on ECM. It is one of the few albums where Metheny not only acts as both the lead and accompanying guitarist but also the bassist, as each track uses fair amounts of overdubbing. The track "September Fifteenth" is in reference to September 15, 1980, the day the American jazz pianist Bill Evans died. The track is dedicated to Evans and Metheny and Mays cite Evans as a major influence. Read more on Last.fm.
