Melrose
Melrose: (1) Finnish band. (2) Female fronted Pop/Rock/Metal/Prog duo. (3) Dutch band. (4) R&B female group. (1) Melrose (FIN) was formed in 1981 by Mika Tokela (lead guitar), Repa Nurmi (2nd guitar), Mika Rantanen (drums) and Jari Piilola (vocals). They started out as a rock-a-billy/50's rock'n'roll combo in Länsimäki, Hakunila. The name Melrose came from the text 'Melrose S&A Club 1962' which was on Tokela's baseball jacket. Soon the original singer, Piilola, left the band and Tokela took over the vocals.
