Ski-A-Delics
Founded in Boston in the late 1980s by Gregory Wildes, the Ski-A-Delics played electric skis. Old skis, both the downhill and x-country types, were stripped of their bindings, each one strung with a single piano wire and fitted with a pickup. In other words, the skis were turned into amplified mono-chords. Bowing, scraping, plucking, striking...all manners of technique were employed by the band as they improvised their way to infamy.
