Arquivolta
Arquivolta emerged in early 2009 in Mexico City, a project integrated by Mike Garcia (vocals), Gabriel Ponce (bass), Leo Diaz (guitar, synthesizers and vocals), Kbto (bass and vocals) and Joseph "Ganso" Mena (drums and percussion).
The sound that the band projects on stage and in studio is located within the rock genre. However, Arquivolta presents light shades of electronic, rock, funk and pop music that, with the simultaneous use of two electric basses and string synthesizers, gives a distinct nature and a fresh style, standing at the forefront of mexican rock in spanish language.
Arquivolta is a young band, still, has performed live, exclusively original tracks, in several occasions. The band has performed in various locations of Mexico City and USA, standing out: Rock House, Intercontinental University (Mutiraö Congress), Iberoamericana University (D.F.) Subway station San Lázaro (“Tic-Tac en la música”), Monster Bar Café, Bull Pool Satélite, Maximus Quintin, El Bataclán (Here I Am Sennheiser), NAMM Show 2011 in Anaheim, CA among many others.
Winner of the contest “Hear I Am” organized by Sennheiser USA, Arquivolta stood out among 5000 bands throughout the Americas, obtaining, this way, an appearance in the TV show “Sesiones Off Season” with Alejandro Franco; as well as being on stand-by for the CMJ music marathon in New York, in which the band compete for a record deal with Universal Republic.
Arquivolta forms part now of Sennheiser Artists, sharing place with top bands and artists such as: Beyoncé, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Goo Goo Dolls, Jamiroquai, Katy Perry, Limp Bizkit, Paramore, Perry Farrell, Rihanna, Scorpions, Seal, Snoop Dogg, Vince Neil, Zac Brown Band etc. Read more on Last.fm.
