Don’t let the name confuse you. Being a common male first name in Norway, one probably don’t expect the stunning voice of Silje Halstensen coming at you. The powerful sound of Bendik has made her and her band a live favourite in Norway. Constantly developing the sound, the red thread is the amazing intensity and massive sound they are able to produce. Many would probably say that Bendik has got a very Nordic sound, and they wouldn’t be very far off assuming correctly. The fact that Halstensen sings in her native Norwegian dialect obviously emphasises this quite a lot, and is also central in the way we listen to this band. It’s just really hard to resist this.
