Dark Materia is an electronica artist from Denmark, who first started making music in 1998. He is best know for The Picard Song, a musical tribute to Star Trek: The Next Generation's Captain Jean-Luc Picard, which became an internet meme in the mid-2000's after being featured on YTMND. The artist released another two Star Trek themed songs in 2001, before a protracted period of inactivity. He later resurfaced with a remake and music video of The Picard Song in 2011, commemorating it's 10th anniversary.
