There are at least two artists with this name. (1) Gary Thomas (born June 6, 1961) is an American jazz saxophonist from Baltimore, Maryland. He was a member of Special Edition and has worked with Cassandra Wilson, Wallace Roney, Miles Davis and Steve Coleman. He currently the head of the Jazz department at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. (2) Gary Thomas is an experimental folk musician from Durban, South Africa. After studying Classical Guitar in school he completed a music degree at The University of Kwa- Zulu Natal in 2005, majoring in Jazz guitar.
