Andrew Bryant is a singer and writer from a small town in north Mississippi. After the birth of his son in February 2008, Andrew Bryant took the summer off and grew a vegetable garden. After the harvest, Bryant wrote and recorded ten new songs for an album during the first week of August 2008. Because of his rough and basic recording style, Bryant only thought of the recordings as the basis for a future album. He planned to record the album in a studio at a later date. However, it was not until March of 2009 that Andrew decided to finish up the album by only re-recording drums and a few guitar parts in his home. After the recording and mixing were complete, Andrew mailed the album to be mastered by TW Walsh (Pedro the Lion, Headphones, The Soft Drugs). The end result is a record which is definitive of Andrew's life and the conditions in which he writes and records his songs.

With the release of his fifth album entitled Galilee, Andrew Bryant has embarked on both new and old territory. Lyrically, Bryant has become known for his dark and haunting personal narratives, while still maintaining a sense of hope in the midst of a questionable world. Andrew is more personal than ever on Galilee. He uses metaphors and personal dialogue to discuss the past and present in a voice that seems to move freely through time. Musically, however, Andrew has continued to expand. Though his recording process is flawed by unconventional methods, Bryant's recordings create a sound that is definitive to his condition. Like his first four albums, Bryant's music blends the traditional elements typically found in folk, rock and blues songs. However, on Galilee Bryant plays the loud louder and the soft softer - creating an album of songs that flow like a river along an untraced American landscape. Read more on Last.fm.
