Formed in 2003 by founder of post-hardcore group Mahumodo (1997-2003) Mehdi Safa and Mahumodo drummer Tom Harriman - based in California and United Kingdom, *shels released their debut 'wingsfortheirsmiles' EP in 2003 on their own imprint (*)shelsmusic. Their debut album 'Sea Of The Dying Dhow' was released on June 18, 2007 also through (*)shelsmusic. Second album "Plains of the Purple Buffalo" was released on July 11 2011 on (*)shelsmusic.
