Abstain was a grindcore band from Los Angeles, California USA which existed for a relatively short period in the mid-nineties. For the majority of their existence, they were a duo consisting of Bryan MacNamara on guitar and Jay Farihi on drums and vocals. They toured the whole US once in 1999 and the west and east coasts once each, Europe twice (once with Arsedestroyer in 1997 and later with Comrades in 2000), and Australia with Upside Down Flag in 2000.
