Gary Brunotte (b. 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota) is an American post-bop jazz pianist, jazz organist, arranger, and composer. He was an instructor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston from 1977-1980. He began on accordion at age 9, but switched to organ and then piano in his 20s while attending college. While living in Boston, he studied piano with the legendary Charlie Banacos. Upon leaving Berklee he moved to New York City where he received a National Endowment for the Arts grant to write a big band suite for the Boston based Herb Pomeroy Big Band in 1981.
