Sore Subjects are hominid cryptid beings said to inhabit the Midwestern United States, although sightings outside this region are particularly common. They are named for the unpleasant attitude that is said to accompany them. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) the Sore Subjects exist only as a local myth. Reports of creatures similar to the Sore Subjects were particularly common in the late 1970s and mid to late 1990s.
